Meet John F.X. Keane

With his wealth of experience in the Borough along with a strong commitment to public service, John F.X. Keane is well-positioned to serve our community as a Council member. A resident of New Providence for 40 years, John has dedicated much of his time to our community, including as a member of the NP Lions Club, the Sustainability Committee and the New Providence Historical Society. He is the vice chair of the Planning Board and has served as chair of both the New Providence Recreation Commission and Boy Scouts Troop 1. Active in local politics, John has served as treasurer for the New Providence Democratic Committee and past campaigns.

John’s strong financial background—he has an MBA in Finance from NYU and 43 years of experience in banking, including launching a business for Citibank in NJ and NYC—would benefit our Council. He has already put his expertise to good use for our community, serving as treasurer of the Downtown Improvement District, where he managed accounts for the New Providence Police Department, New Providence Art and the New Providence Beautification Committee. In addition, John was a long-time member of the Economic Development Committee.
